Autism Rest is designed to serve as a memorial to those who had autism. While many deaths that are public information were caused by tragic circumstances, the blog is not limited to those situations. We will be featuring those with autism who die of natural causes as well. Please email AlanStokes43@gmail.com if you have a recommendation of someone with autism to add to this blog or if you wish to add a tribute to a person on this memorial site.
Autism Rest hopes the autism community and others will continue to learn from these priceless lives and their circumstances even after death. We hope society will be better able to keep people with autism safe by understanding the diverse ways in which some have died.
Our thoughts are with the immediate family and special friends of all the subjects on this site. These posts represent only a small sample of the amazing people with autism who once lived among us. Please read them with respect. All comments are disabled because of the sensitive nature of situations.
Here is a summary of the 4 autism blogs by Alan Stokes.
Autism Light: This blog honors autism heroes. There are 400+ that are indexed and linked in a multitude of ways for reference. My goal is to get to 1,000 Points of Autism Light, so the blog has only just begun. I cover a diverse collection of subjects and my style is to be objective and biographical in nature, providing quotes, resources, and encouragement wherever possible, along with plenty of links for readers to do further research.
Autism Rest: This is an autism memorial blog about those with autism that have died. My style is to give a short paragraph about the circumstances, quote any tributes I could find, and then to list any links on the Internet I was able to find on the person.
Autism Shares: This blog promotes autism awareness on social media and the people and organizations that are responsible for the sharing.
Autism Quotes: This blog is a simple blog that has a variety of quotes on autism and their sources.
